For candidates:

Nora Maligmat

Nora Maligmat

Recruitment Consultant (she/her/hers)

“After starting a career in finance and banking and having children of my own, I experienced a massive paradigm shift. I started to think about my own journey as a woman of color and first-generation college graduate, the daughter of an immigrant mom, and a child that grew up in low-income housing. I thought about the systems and structures that needed to be dismantled and how I can work toward positive change and excellent outcomes for all. I quickly pivoted to social impact work and remain passionate about creating spaces of belonging where you live, work, and play.”

  • As a previous Associate Director of Talent with a full-service talent firm, Nora designed equitable and impactful recruitment processes while leaning into building authentic relationships. She worked with nonprofits, school districts, startups, local businesses, and socially-responsible companies to support their people and process needs. Prior to that, she was on Teach For America’s staff managing campus recruitment and high-volume markets for over four years.
  • In addition to recruitment, Nora supported the launch of a new campus for a data science boot camp with Galvanize as a Program Lead where she earned her first net promoter score (NPS) of 100. She also created and scaled an org-wide hiring, training, and onboarding program.
  • She holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Business from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

Nora lives in Southern California with her husband and four minions/children, who have all visited over 23 national parks and counting. On top of cooking delicious meals, she is obsessed with outdoor adventures including hiking, camping, and backpacking in the backcountry wilderness.

Put your values to work. Act on equity.

We believe equity isn’t a box to check. It’s a daily action. Someone’s unique identity isn’t something to overcome–when paired with the right opportunity, it becomes one of their greatest professional assets. We exist to empower social impact organizations to recognize and overcome unconscious bias, racism and sexism so they can build a workforce that reflects and strengthens the communities they serve.
