“My family story illustrates that access to education for one generation leads to financial stability and prosperity for all those who follow. Living in Oakland, I see daily the inequities of how power, wealth and privilege are distributed and the stark realities of the devastating impacts of systemic racism for Black and Brown children and their families. This is what motivates me every day to work for equity, inclusion and justice.”
