It wasn’t until I got a scholarship to a private boarding school that I saw and experienced inequities up close. I quickly recognized that the opportunities I had been given as a child were very different from the opportunities of my new peers. And that the new opportunities I was now presented with were different from my friends back home. I saw something was wrong and I wanted to fix it. This lit a fire and was the moment I became a social justice warrior.”
