“What excites me about working at Edgility is the chance to partner with an organization I’ve long admired for its commitment to education reform and its effectiveness in matching candidates with great organizations. I’m particularly drawn to Edgility’s mission-driven approach, its alignment with my own values, and the opportunity to work with a talented, female-led team. The collaborative effort to find exceptional leaders for schools across the country is both inspiring and motivating for me.

Taylor’s journey began as a high school student in Santa Barbara, CA, where she witnessed significant disparities in educational opportunities and outcomes between the white and Hispanic communities. Inspired by her father’s dedicated work on the Santa Barbara School Board to address these inequities, Taylor developed a deep commitment to educational justice. This passion was further ignited during her time at the University of Southern California. Just a month after graduating, she joined Teach for America and began teaching high school English at Locke High School. From her very first day in the classroom, Taylor knew she was destined to make a difference in addressing educational inequity. She later fell in love with charter schools and has worked at places like Achievement First and KIPP. Nineteen years later, her dedication to education reform remains as strong as ever.

  • For the first seven years of her career, Taylor worked in schools: Taylor was a high school English teacher through Teach for America in Los Angeles and later became an Assistant Principal at Achievement First in Brooklyn. Instead of becoming a School Principal, she fell in love with recruitment and became the Sr. Director of School Leader recruitment at Achievement First, locating internal and external leaders for 34 schools across three states.

  • As the Director of National Recruitment at the KIPP Foundation, Taylor authored the inaugural KIPP Recruitment Playbook and played a pivotal role in training and coaching nineteen KIPP regions. Her efforts led to a remarkable improvement in hiring outcomes, increasing the percentage of hires completed by the last day of school from 63% to 92% within just one year.

Put your values to work. Act on equity.

We believe equity isn’t a box to check. It’s a daily action. Someone’s unique identity isn’t something to overcome–when paired with the right opportunity, it becomes one of their greatest professional assets. We exist to empower social impact organizations to recognize and overcome unconscious bias, racism and sexism so they can build a workforce that reflects and strengthens the communities they serve.
