Nina Bhatia

Principal (she/her/hers)

“My dad was from India, and my mom is from Norway. I am a first-generation college graduate, thanks to my parents’ belief in me and great K-12 public school teachers. It was in college that I learned about America’s inequitable educational systems. Why do some children attend schools and benefit from systems that maximize their potential, and others get left behind? As a result, I have spent my career focused on changing that reality. Unfortunately, unjust practices and structures aren’t isolated to education. I am honored to be part of Edgility and the work to create equity and inclusion within organizations.”

  • At the National Math and Science Initiative, Nina led a reinvention of performance management systems, moving from semi-annual evaluations to monthly performance and engagement snapshots for 100 staff members
  • At Dallas Independent School District, she oversaw the district’s alternative certification program’s coaching team, resulting in program participant satisfaction increasing by 90% in one year and a transformed staff culture, evidenced by Gallup Employee Engagement survey results.
  • She holds a Master’s degree in Education from Southern Methodist University and Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin.

Nina lives in Austin and enjoys traveling to see family and friends who live throughout the United States. She loves to read and is, slowly but surely, learning many of her mom’s Norwegian holiday recipes.

Put your values to work. Act on equity.

We believe equity isn’t a box to check. It’s a daily action. Someone’s unique identity isn’t something to overcome–when paired with the right opportunity, it becomes one of their greatest professional assets. We exist to empower social impact organizations to recognize and overcome unconscious bias, racism and sexism so they can build a workforce that reflects and strengthens the communities they serve.
