Mary Joan Evans Promoted to Recruitment Operations Manager

Edgility is pleased to announce the promotion of Mary Joan Evans to Recruitment Operations Manager!

Mary Joan (MJ) joined Edgility in 2019 as a Special Assistant, but has since transitioned to overseeing all recruitment operations, including managing candidate and client data and integrating more efficient processes into our search practices. Learn more about her journey below.

What are you most excited to accomplish in your new role?

I am most looking forward to continue driving our team to more innovative and efficient practices that will allow us to broaden our impact with clients, and ultimately the people they serve. This role will give me the opportunity to pull back from day-to-day operations, and focus on bigger picture projects.

What are 2-3 biggest lessons you’ve learned on your journey to becoming a leader at Edgility?

During my journey to leadership, I’ve been given and earned opportunities to learn from my very talented team. The environment you work in has a great deal of impact on your ability to become a leader. Edgility has grown tremendously this year, and with this growth many of us have been trusted to take on larger projects and use our autonomy to grow our practice and ourselves.

How do you hope to advance equity in your new role?

In an internal facing role, I hope to streamline our processes and protocol so that our search team members that interact with candidates and clients have more capacity to do just that. Time is one of our greatest resources, especially when it comes to intentional and equitable practices.

What are a few things you love about the communities you serve?

Our team is so fortunate to serve such a diverse community of schools and nonprofit organizations. I particularly love getting to know a specific organization’s unique mission and impact with each search we do. Our clients serve the kids of our country in such innovative and inspiring ways! Internally, I love serving our Edgility team more directly and seeing the impact of simplified tools and processes making folks’ lives easier. The camaraderie of our team is unparalleled and I’m grateful to work with each person on our team.
