For candidates:

Kayanna Scott-Brown

Kayanna Scott-Brown

Senior Recruitment Consultant (she/her/hers)

“Growing up in the inner city in a single parent household has really shaped me into the person I am today. I am most definitely a product of my community and my previous experiences. My entire career has been working with children and families in an operations capacity, and I chose to transition into recruitment a few years ago in order to have a larger impact within schools and organizations that serve under resourced communities. I want to ensure I am always doing my part to make the world a better place for children and families that are marginalized and don’t usually have access to resources.”

  • Before joining Edgility, Kayanna led the recruitment work at UP Education Network.
  • As the Director of Recruitment at UP, she supported 5 schools and a network office with all of their recruitment efforts. She served on the equity committee helping to launch the organization’s first affinity spaces across the schools and network office. She helped to increase the diversity of hires and pipeline from 32%-43% in one year.
  • She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Wheelock College.

Kayanna lives in Boston, MA with her husband, two daughters, her mom and cat Luna. When she is not working, she is enjoying her time cycling, going on walks/hikes with her husband, diving into real estate investment and binge watching a netflix series. She enjoys reading self help books and listening to podcasts that specifically support her long term and short term goals.

Put your values to work. Act on equity.

We believe equity isn’t a box to check. It’s a daily action. Someone’s unique identity isn’t something to overcome–when paired with the right opportunity, it becomes one of their greatest professional assets. We exist to empower social impact organizations to recognize and overcome unconscious bias, racism and sexism so they can build a workforce that reflects and strengthens the communities they serve.
