“A third-generation educator, the power of education as transformational was instilled in me from a young age and I was fortunate to attend well-resourced and well-staffed schools as a child. After college, I taught high school in a small, rural community in south Texas and experienced the inequities my students faced up close. This experience was transformational for me. As a mother of three girls, I work every day to increase outcomes for students and historically marginalized communities in service of a different and better future for all.”
